why do teams get 1 point for a loss? What is a Gavg [Goal Average) does that exist in basketball?

2 for a win and 1 for a loss is just like doing Ws and Ls only this way if a team forfeits it hurts the forfeiting team and doesn't given an added bonus to the other team.
Gavg = GF/GA.
How do you forfeit?
Not enough players? Too many fouls? Not a clue. That inquiry still remains unanswered to me...
In guide, it's only if you have less than 5 players available to play. If that's the only way you can forfeit a game, seems like a waste of a point.
Ya. But, basketball is W-L anyway so if that is 2-1 or 1-0 it doesn't REALLY matter. Fact is, there really is no need for points.
I guess ties aren't very likely... but what happens if it's a tie?
Basket ball is ranked by Winning Percentage not points.
There are no Goals in Basket ball only points or baskets.
What about Field Goals (FG)?
