What if potential only looks at primary attribute quality? while stars take into account secondary attributes. so an A winger may have 95 quality for offense but 50 quality for everything else and be an A because of that high primary attribute quality.
That's not the case. The potential is simply a range of AQ. For example, an A player is someone with an AQ 75 or above. Well, that's what it was for the draft... it may be changed now.
not sure. my B player was a 4 star defensive but 4.5 goalie. he was listed as defender and 4.5 has to be a A or A+ type of player.
cant be based on average only, unless my player was one of those hidden gems

Okay sorry. The position type depends on the attribute build. Potential depends on average quality of all attributes.
wish defenders were all about pass and technique ...
My pull
Goa: 74, Def: 94, Pas: 93, Tec: 95, Agr: 67
anyone interested in?

have no clue. if someone comes and say some big number i can put him in the market.
i will either sell him now (in couple of weeks) or just keel him forever in my team.

Just scouted my first B level player. This 'key player' has an overall quality of 59.
My scouting/HR level is 10.
So glad I made a point of being online to draft this "key player'.

Definitions will be changed for the next draft.
Basically everything is moving down a level and Cs are merging with Ds. So, As will be the new Bs and will be described as key players not star players.
i like the idea of one draft. i got a decent goalie but when i drafted him i was hoping for a stellar goaile instead i got a guy who might be able to be my backup one day, but thats unlikely. i would like a better player even if it means less of them
that does not change much the fact there will be very few star players in the draft.
I am not opposed of having a star player in B category. In fact, I think that is nice to have.
Problem is that some Bs should move to C.
In a 0-5 range, 2.5 is average. C is always considered average, a role player
A+ is that nerd that never makes a mistake: 5.0. Give a range: 4.5-5.0
A is that guy that is 90% great. 4.5. Give then a range: 4.0-4.5
B is that guy that is a starter but just because the team cant afford to have all starts as starters. 3.5-4.0
C: The average guy. some even though are average can became good role players (or even star) because of hard work: 2.5. give a range 2-4.0 . note: a C of 3.5-4.0 is a "gem"
D: Those rarely see any time in the court. sometimes they are luck as starters are injured and they have some chance: 2.0 range 1.5-2.5
F: a FAIL. nobody wants those. Zero chance of making the roster: 1.0. range 0.5-1.5
NOTE there are overlaps in the grades so some "gems" could be found.
If they drop players a level it will not help much i think. It will just give more As in the draft that are not really "A" quality and Bs will be almost worthless.
