Yes defensive plays are quite difficult in Handball since it's a very physical/agressive sport...and Defence runs after the ball...most of the time players do fouls to stop players "in a kind way" such as grabbing (without getting penalty or yellow Card)...blocking a shot is difficult since it occures on fast pace or stealing is also difficult since usually players defend together like a "wall" to protect their goalie (the attacking team leads/controls the ball)...

Thanks, I just don't understand the rules either, like how can you stop someone just walking in and throwing it into the net? Do you touch the ball or physically take it off them?

Watched the video, seems to me they need to just get some 7 foot giant and throw to him to score all the goals. XD

As Cheerin said, handball is a very physical sport (but not aggressive, same like rugby, there are a lot of contact but not aggressive). The theory is that you can stop someone going to shoot on goal by physical contact always that it is not by breach (grab, knock, kick ...)
The attacker tries to fool the defender to find space to launch and the defense has to move to cover and if necessary contact the attacker to prevent him win the position and even steal the ball to the attacker if possible.
In each player with ball attack if desired has 3 steps, then you can bounce the ball as many times as you want and then three steps without bouncing to find position. If you do not get the position constraint can pass the ball to a teammate.
Normally strong and tall players are in positions of pivot and backs, they have more direct positions on goal and you put your stronger men there.

In the wings are the most agile and fast men. They tend to jump a lot to get the impulse from outside the 6-meter line (goalkeeper's area where you can not set foot) to a more central position where they have better launch angle. They also tend to be quick to play with the counterattacks.
