Absolutely true, promoting to I.1 without being able to reach the playoffs is a penalty to you team compared to top 2 in Div 2
But the promotion money and decrease in OTR lost through promotion is well worth it. It's a trade off.
I don't think so, you still get the promotion money AND better OTR if you take the extra season needed to put you in a better position to compete with the top half of Div 1.
I totally disagree with 'trade off' you speak about, and see an extra season to prepare nothing but a plus. Its not like I have a bunch of 25 and 26 year olds heading to free agency

I suppose. I took this year to develop some youth. I'd have gotten slaughtered in I.1 but now some youngsters are getting experience.
