Some people keep that many players to have a "B" squad for friendlies to help conserve energy for there starters. 2 full rosters are 40+ players & even if they only go 3 lines for there "B" squad & 4 lines of starters thats still 35 skaters without even counting goalies.

I look at it a bit different than most people here. Of course daytrading is immoral. But look at it this way.. if you have your facilities nicely and maybe won a cup or two somewhen in the future without trading away one atty junk you will be able to say:"I finally made it, i have won something." And you can be a bit proud because you put a lot of effort to come that far.
Those people who will have succeeded only because they participated in daytrading will have nothing to be proud of. They will have won absolutely nothing.

When I look at the leagues and who's on top of the standing, I always check the team's trading history first to judge who's a good manager and who's not. There are people out there who are competing great without selling one atty junk.

The only problem is about new members who don't know about the importance of all attributes. If they put all their money into weak players the consequences are very bad and they stop to play.

If those people aren't reading the site material they will fail anyway. It comes down to being educated about the game. Those without the desire to learn about what drives many of the games' results will leave after poor results regardless of whether or not they purchase players that will not help them in the long run.

I do not share your belief that this type of selling is immoral.

to be a good day-trader needs also good skills, you have to know how market works, when is the best time to sell and also how high you can set the price
and that needs a very long time to observe

I also think (and I'll be stoned for this ), they help to create prices for players, the player will be sold only for price he is worth
I also think the mastery of DTs is to buy player for very low price, not to sell them high

And last thing
This is a managerial game and managing a team means also earning money for you club and how you'll earn them is up to you, without them you never get higher and you can't rely only on GS, TV, they are too low compared to what you really need to be better

I guess some people will never learn. I thought that I know a lot things here and still managed to spend so much money on players that I actually can't exploit. The best player I've bought is partially in my 4th line- partially is resting because his shooting sucks.
It seems now that I became some sort of daytrader.
So, I don't feel compassion for those new managers because it is a process of learning, and it is interesting.

In another few seasons when all the facilities are maxed out you'll have the top teams with loads of money and nothing to spend it on but the top talent, picking away all the good players each and every time.

I think that a salary cap and a luxury tax for the highest level leagues should be in order. The middle / low leagues should be wide open (for now) and the top leagues should have some sort of cap / penalty instituted for going over, this way the top teams when their facilities are maxed etc can't just keep everyone down by swallowing up all the talent.

I agree about low prices.
I know one Lithuanian guy who is very fond of large chest size with women... .and he is aggrieved deep inside because he has to pay 50% for top quality players he is selling. Daytrading has its bad sides.

I think that it might reduce the value of day trading if a limit to the number of players that can be trained was set (if I missed that in the guide, my apologies). That way too many players would mean that those 50 day waits would not result in an improved player for those over the maximum,

They can only be bought if they are being sold....

The lesson is to keep hold of your players.

I like the system.
Lets say you buy a player with 80 Quality then after scouting his Quality turns out to be 55. You have just spent 'x' amount of dollars on a player that is of very little use in the future. You can still sell him after 50 days to recover your costs.
Also if a manager spends lots of money on his training facilities and sports academy, shouldn't he be entitled to recoup his investment through player sales?

People's definition of a Day Trader is too hard to nail down for it to be specific. And if they want to play the game that way, that IS their choice.

Some teams have great training facilities and bring in players with potential or from the SA and train them, be it 1 atty or multiple attys, so why not benifet from those investments?

Ultimately there is a way to "police" what we think are improper transactions by reporting them to a GM, but this is really not a problem because it's self regulating. Some owners may want 1 atty wonders because they don't care about balanced game play, etc.

So deciding who is playing right and who is playing wrong isn't really for us to say, as there are many aspects to managing a team, not just winning games.

Daytrading doesn't bother me at all, the guys are taking advantage of morons who overspend, oh well that is the way that life works.

I don't see the point in training up 40 players either... while their OR may grow to a good amount, they'll have 0 chemistry and experience, which just makes them semi-pointless.
