Lose a game here and there to keep it interesting for your fans. They're tired of seeing so many blow outs!
Haha no blowouts this season, well, two so far. Perhaps I have to offer free hot-dogs for every kid who comes to the game. Or have a meet the players night. Hmmmm. Perhaps I will do that

come on, this is not the problem. the problem are the questions i listed above. and there are lot of really curious results last 4 weeks. check my lost games, you will see what I mean. but my problem with lost (or won) games are: why I lost/won? how could I analyze the games if there are no informations which line played agains which opponent line? and if there are no informations about the passing of my players? And why did the player xy not score with 7 shoots on target? did the keeper hold all shoots or was the shooting to weak? is were all shoots misshits? Hmm... all these questions I ask after almost every game. and if I have no chance to answer them I will lose motivation with time...
I agree. I've lost some questionable games. But hell, the Swiss beat Russia so anything can happen. I just take it as if it is something like that. I still yell and scream at my players then go home and beat the girlfriend but you have to expect an upset every now and again.
(Jokes about the girlfriend, she just moved to New Zealand for 7 months so I'm stuck beating the dog... jokes there too, don't have a dog ;P)

yeah, but in this game swi-rus you had the possibility to see why switzerland won... you can see how much good passes were played, how much bad ones. but it's a bad example for me. because this really was a game where switzerland won with lot of luck. and such games could happen also here, this is ok. but if a team loses so much curious games as me, then I want to have answered some question. but at this time it's not possible because I have not enough informations about the game...
You aren't going to get any answers to these questions. The developers want to keep it a secret. Otherwise the game will turn into one giant formula that everyone will know the answer to and the game will become boring.
Not to be rude, but you've been asking these questions for the last 100 pages of this thread. I would bet that if you had gotten the answers 100 pages ago, you probably would have already lost interest in the game. The mystery is what makes it interesting. Sure you should have won a lot of games that you did not win. I don't know why, but neither does anyone else. On a good day a bad team is going to beat a good team. Sometimes goalies win games all by themselves. Maybe this is what's happening to you?

hehe, if this is not possible I will lose motivation to play this game. there is more than one possibility to answer my questions.
I just ask this things because I'm sure others do have same questions. and if it's not possible to give some answers to this questions this game is not worth to play for me for longer time...
if the developers are clever they do it in a way it's not possible to make a big formula.
but ok, maybe I'm asking too much. But it's really bad that NOT AN ONLY ONE could give me answers why I lost some games. I get always one answer: bad luck... so will they all say that this game is luck? I hope not...

Already did that once. I guess it was kind of fun. I'll have to wait until a potential match up next year.

I have a similar complaint as Mickey. I don't think anyone should speak on behalf of others about whether the mystery of the match engine will contribute to boredom. The largest and most popular game of this type that I am aware of does feature a match engine in which virtually every detail is known. It is like playing a formula. And the game has around 900k users. I think that should give pause to anyone who thinks that removing some mystery from the game would inevitably lead to boredom.
The other argument is that it is very hard to preserve mystery over the long term anyway. Eventually motivated players figure out what works best, and can probably come pretty close to reverse-engineering the formulas that underlie the results. This game is very young, so we don't see it as much yet, but I think we all know that some very smart people are hard at work on the problem. I think it's only a matter of time before more details are worked out.

you are right. there are many people that need to know every detail to enjoy something. And some of them feel they are being cheated or ripped off if they don't.
I fall into the other category. I have been playing text-based sims for 15 years now, online and otherwise. I am also rather good at math to put it modestly. Once I figure out the equation to a game it becomes completely boring to me. It becomes simply a matter of plugging the right numbers in to get the same result.
What people need to accept is that in the laws of statistical probability, you can have all the factors going your way and still lose. And now amount of secret revealing will change that.

I don't disagree with any of that. I hope I did not come across as saying that your opinion is invalid, because I was trying to say the opposite. I was trying to say there are valid opinions on both sides, and neither one is objectively right.
Also, I agree that just because the formulas are known does not mean that results are pre-determined. Presumably there is a component of randomness in the game engine, just as there is in the other game I spoke of. In that game, at the higher levels it largely becomes about getting the best ratings you can within the economic constraints against you, like player salaries. Right now player salaries are just about meaningless for at least 99% of teams, I would guess, but I hope in the future they will be a major part, so that teams won't be able to hold on to all the players they might want to because they won't be able to afford the salaries.
But, I recognize that the economic aspect isn't interesting to everyone, even though it's very interesting to me.

I didn't take your comment that way at all. no worries
does anyone know if there is a way to find out when some construction is due after you have started it? For example my Sports Academy is being upgraded to level 9 and has been for ages but cannot remember when it is due for completion. Is there anyway to find out?
if you put your mouse pointer over the yellow construction sign, a little box will pop up that will tell you how long is left. you don;t have to click anything just put the pointer over it.
