I noticed the same thing... Same scores in both games, one was 2.49 increase, the other was 3.2x.... Tougher opponent = more OTR? Home win = more OTR?
Home was more OTR for me. My first game I got less and it was against a much tougher opponent if you look at the standings last season and the OTR of the team. Perhaps it is home...
its not home ice. I have the same thing. I got the same score and got more OTR against an easier opponent while playing away.
Perhaps it was increased to help keep OTR moving since a lot of people will starting getting even each year as the 30% loss equals their yearly gain.
but if they keep OTR moving it will be impossible to catch up to the leaders.
That plateau allows us to catch up to you.

+1, I totally agree, if you don't make it harder, there will be no way to compete in the future... And such updates should be announced. It would really not favor me since I moved up to a much tougher league where I don't expect much wins during the season...
yeah i got a reduction from last year and it sucks, it hard to win and when you win you ain't get a lot of point, i'm in the III.2 and it's realy hard to get wins and i look to the other guys in III.8 or any others III with 10 no name team and they get similar points from a noname wins,
I think fail to understand OTR there alaskoop.
It drops like 30% or whatever at the start of every season. You gain OTR for winning games, the tougher the opponent the more OTR you get (in theory).

That's the point: I can't see enough of a difference between tough and easy wins.
Ya there really isn't much. I.1 should get more OTR for a win then IV.12. Sadly not the case. So as you move up you don't get more OTR.
I don't think it shouldbe based on divisions, otherwise, newer team would never compete, but it might be based on the diff in EGE or team strength between both teams, away ort home, and so on...
I disagree. I've worked hard to get from III.7 to I.1. To get the same for a win in I.1 is way harder then in III.7. OTR drives finances and people drop down intentionally because the finances aren't worth it enough at times to stay up. It doesn't need to be much. Something like 4 for I.1 3.5 for II, 3 for III and 2.5 for IV. That way 15 wins in I.1 would give you 60OTR while 20 wins in II would give you 70.
I would have to agree with canucks. If there isn't a decent sized benefit to being in higher leagues then whats the point of moving up?
I ask myself that each season. I hardly gain any OTR anymore and my sponsor offers only go up if I do better. Given each year it gets tougher and tougher... it's a hard line to walk.
