I openly question the ability of deadrick & ariba as coaches.
How hard is it to have a 9 star offense top line?
I thought the 1st few games were to test out line combinations, but how many does it take to realize even The Cheetarian's top line is better than the Entire Team Canada's?
I've faced deadrick for seasons, and I know his capability as a GM in the long-run in terms of player-training and facility-upgrades.
But this tournament is dealing with current situation.
The amateur player selections are to blame for the 1-3-2 record.
There isn't any personal attacks, but the performances continue to prove my vote wrong.

you seem to forget to take something in consideration, even if i took your first line, they will start with 0 chemistry. my first line is also 9 puck offense but in team canada they will be like ... 7 because of the zero chemestry. the problem with the team right now is that we take too much penalty, some manager dont train the tech to match the agr and it hurt us. Give the time to the chemestry to build up and you will have your 9 star offense top line, even 10 maybe.
Also the problem with canada is the high expectation we have, we can't be dominant in ppm as much we are in real life, its just imposible because we don't have the same pool of player than the other country. It can look strange to lose to team like brazil, france and even germany, but those team have a bigger pool of player than us.
I'm doing my best and i think i'm doing well right now considering those fact. If you think you can do better than me give it a try next year, you will see it's not that easy. And this is not a personal attack

Keep at it Deadrick. Our teams in Canada are falling behind in Training and Sports Academy progression, If we want the Canadian Team to be competitive, we must all try to produce and develop players worthy of being on the National Team. It's no secret that the reason why The Cheetarian has 3 players above 300 OR is his investment in his facilities. If deadrick had more teams to draw players from Team Canada would be better.
i agree with the naked overweight man. we are all responsible for how well Canada does in the long run. we can help in two ways:
1. by investing in training as the shirtless wonder above has said
2. we can also get more friends to join and increase the number of Canadian GMs producing players. This is going to be the best long term approach, and i cannot stress enough how important this is.

Time for a NOOB to wiegh in. Where is canucks anyway?hehehe My thoughts on this are a combination of pluses and minuses.
With the pool of players NB has to draw on I don't expect him to finnish very high in the WC. Give me the team to run there would be no miracle. Give the team to Oil same limits. By the way Oil how'd you get my picture to down load as your avatar?ROFL. I'm not kidding your using my likeness including the beard and the grey! hehehe
NB is getting caught on tactics to often. You need help in that area. I'm more than happy to look at each opponent and tendencies and give you advice each week.
That IMHO is where you've made mistakes. Draw on the knowledge of other people reguarding ratios, ect. You might not know what you think you know in the most complete sense. That said it's not about wins and losses in exibition games but rather player development as others have touched upon. What is IMPORTANT is not getting our 5 dollar azzzzzzes relegated in the WC. That should be the only goal for the next 4 or so seasons til we get facilities like SA maxed at 15 along with training/regen. Please note the word WE. That's what's great about being Canadian WE stand together when international hockey is the topic. Any review of NB's managerial skills is best discussed after the seasons over. The record now is less important than the process used to obtain that record. NB ask for some advice. You might get some useful pointers.
I looked at that photo of player builds at the start of the season many of those player builds were a disaster. Again hopefully you've been working with the managers to develop them to a decent bundle. 75% agro in the bundle is a disaster waiting to happen and I'm sure you know that. Most of the BIG Euro clubs use 2:1:1 for thier builds. Well if we use the same build for players and 5-10 stars lower on attys we must inevitably lose. That's not NB's fault obviously. He can only work with what's available. But we could see if building a consensus to develop 100:75:50 players might actually bring us a few wins extra in coming seasons. Tough to convince folks to change thier individual builds frankly. It's 1 of the few ideas I could come up with to combat the huge disparity in player pools.
NB do the best you can but have some fun. Being the manager of Canada is likely the most thankless job in the game unless we win gold! A true understatement! I'm guessing we can't change/replace the assistant manager. Unfortunate as the guy apparently is going into the army and won't be here. If you can, put canucks in at assistant. Get a wider circle of opinion and knowledge to draw from. Flying Heads wasn't a terible choice by the way. His team development was done through player purchase and his results clearly shows he understands atty recognition in the game engine. A key for nat teams for sure.
We are many seasons away from being a medal contender. Who ever is manager will have the same challenges next year and the year after. It's about longterm player development. That's why Canada is a hockey powerhouse. We have the BEST player development of any country on earth. We play countries in RL with 10 times our population and win consistantly because of our youth program in RL. We need to copy that approach here at PPM. Longterm thinking and building consensus on effective builds by sharing what we have found.
Good luck the rest of the season.

canucks had a late night last night with hockey, slept in till 1:30. He's back in the game now

My point had nothing to do with facility and long-term success. It was just a matter of choosing the right players now. I scouted players in our league that you chose not to put on the team but with great builds. Assuming you did actually spent time scouting for the best available lineup for team Canada, you'd know there're a ton of great-built players just from the top half teams from our league.
Now the points you wanted to make I believe was completely irrelevant. How could you blame the lack of success for team Canada on other managers' training facility or player builds when you could easily avoid choosing the players in the first place. It all revolves back to the player selection doesn't it? I don't care about real life expectations or other teams' pool of players. I mind it when we're not maximizing on our own country's talents. For the newbs who think I'm only implying my own players, no I'm not. The players deadrick chose from his own team are all of great builds. I'm only questioning the selection of the players he chose from the other teams. Why choose a 60-20-20 when you can have a 50-30-20 with similar OR? This isn't a popularity contest. If the best available players are all from Nicol Bolas, then by all means put them all on. This isn't an All-Star game. Winning Is everything.
The "if you think you can do better" thing doesn't work when you're representing all of us to play against other countries. It's fine if you're really doing your best, but you're wrong to think you're actually doing very well with 1 win in the last 6. Hopefully canucks357 isn't thinking "how did I ever lose by 5 votes to this guy".
I'm only questioning because I care. I'd rather be the bad guy saying these than looking helpless at the sidelines with Canada's ranking continue to drop.

I got like 5 days to select the players for the first game, not a lot of time to scout 40 players, so yes, i made some bad choice but there is room for 15 more players. So you can continue to whine about my ability to select player OR you can be useful and help me by pm me the players who you think should make the team..... your choice
Tell us what the Team needs. What are the builds a player needs to crack the lineup.
Yeah, you were supposed to post guidelines a long time ago.
I suggested one of my players to you also, you never gave me any reason why he didn't make the time, you always said to wait a couple of days.

On this point about time needed to select players you are 100% WRONG!! You screwed up pure and simple. You had your assistant chosen and 25 players selected in the first 12 hours. I cut you alot of slack in my previous post. Not on this comment. The only other country that moved this quickly was Brazil. I know b/c I checked that day and every day that week. You niether asked for advice nor took the time to get an even small sampling of player builds available outside of a small circle of division 1 guys. Or are you so arrogant you presumed you'd be chosen manager? Now I'm ticked off!!!
I looked at the players chosen and shaked my head. But at the time I said he must have a plan to get them built right by the WC. But the actions taken by you in the 1st 12 hours as manager are yours and yours alone. None of the big Euro clubs or a comparable size country like USA chose a significant number of players on the first day. You excluded our input and made the team your personal sandbox to play in. And has been pointed out 45 days into the season you still have not given the player build(s) your looking for. Hopefully we make a better choice as a country next season. It isn't wins and losses at this point but rather the attitude you display I can't stomach. Start acting in the interest of ALL of us. It the Canadian national team not NB II. The team doesn't belong or represent you it represents all Canadian manager at PPM!!!

I have to agree. If you look at the first few pages of our national team forum, it is filled with collaborative efforts from many users, included a way of developing a database of players and player atties by canucks and ketchhoel. I recommend for the years to come that we make use of our users' willingness to collaborate and exchange this information freely so that better player choices can be made.
