When my staff reach $200,000 a day, they get the "cardboard watch cut-out" package and are forced to walk the cardboard plank...the one that runs past the "future Hall of Fame" cut-out !!
Staff salaries 1,892,681
Am I doing something wrong? O_o

Mine are 1,911,925. We're both at level II, so if you're doing something wrong, so am I. I seem to spend a lot of time trying to keep them under control AND trying to remain competitive at the same time.
Bigger corporations tend to abuse their staff more !!

Well, I have a lecturer whose contract ends in 13 days, and 3 staff members with like, 98 or 99 in certain attributes, so I'll be cutting down soon. I also noticed I had an extra coach sitting there for no reason. So that'll be 50k less a day too haha. Once I've got the U20 settled down I can probably cut back on the HR guys a bit as well. Then my only extra will be a sporting director, but one of the guys retires in like 60 days. I'm too lazy to try buying another one, I guess?
Look how many lecturers my team(s) have. None. For good reason. You pay them money to make staff cost you money faster. The price you pay for lecturers, you can easily buy staff who are better, quicker.
Ex. Staff rarely exceed 5M. That's 50 days of a 100k/day lecturer. In rare cases a staff goes for 10M, that's less than a season of paying a 100k lecturer. Those times halve if you're rocking a 200 OR lecturer.

Shh, don't tell everyone, cuz if everyone did that, there would be a lot less 200 OR staffers on the market to buy for cheap!
For the most part, I have been unable to get the staff I want on time unless I start trying to buy them 2 weeks ahead of time in the past. The process is worth it financially, but has been so frustrating in the past I just settled for mostly training my own guys so they would last me a while (instead of buying them at 59-60yo). Like I said: I'm lazy.

I have 3 questions.
1-2) With no lecturers, are training levels higher at higher facility levels, and if so, by how much?
3) If you set a staffer to "no training", does his salary stop rising?

1-2) Facility performance = FL*(1 + 0.5*SE)
Where FL is facility level and SE is staff efficiency. So at level 10 and staff effectiveness is 50%, you have and effective facility of 10*(1+0.25)=12.5.
3) Salary is based on the OR of the staff by C*(A1^3+A2^3) where C varies by league level. If you stop training, their salary will stop growing (will still go up with next contract if you've trained between current deal signed and next deal signed).

My question is: is it worth the investment into the maintenance center to lower maintenance costs, when the upkeep itself rises when you up the level of the facility?
In other words: is the additional daily expense made up by the additional efficiency of the maintenance center itself? Has anyone done the math? xD (Not to mention to upfront costs of 100+M to build the upgrade)
My upkeep is above 2.1M per day when considering both facilities and arenas, and I have 3 extra levels that could be added to said maintenance center. (+ 1 mediocre and 1 200 OR staff members that could be canned if they're actually not making enough of a difference to justify their salary)

I suggest you read some of my PPM Mag articles.
Summary at the bottom of this article: ppm.powerplaymanager.com/...
I have a spreadsheet you can use to maximize your savings based on facilities, rink, and staff, available for download here:
drive.google.com/open?id=...
I have everything maxed, and best savings occurs around 70/70 staff by the time you consider custodian salaries.

I seem to remember reading that article, but that was a while ago. And that spreadsheet is pretty cool, except the numbers don't actually match... My actual numbers are a good bit higher than what's on the sheet.
Facilities. Sheet gives me $918,568.99, financial report is 962,415
arena: $1,117,375.73 + $53,292.96 from the spreadsheet (so roughly 1 170 600), actual number is 1,221,522
that's almost a 100k difference right there. Any reason why that would be? I entered the exact numbers I got for everything. (I'm guessing it doesn't really matter that much as a bottom line, but still, I'm assuming you have the exact formula, what with your special connections and all).
At any rate, it takes like 100 days to build lvl 14 and 105M, and I would save (once construction has finished) an extra 50k a day with my current staff... it would take years (~2100 days) to pay itself off O_o

What are your head and assistant custodian skills? The formula is pretty close, but not exact. Difference could be related to league level.
And yes, it is a tad frustrating the lack of thought that went into the development of the financial side of the game.

I have a 100/100 head and my assistant is 58/55 I think? (it gives me 60% rating for both attributes on the staff page).
I'm not even sure the stuff like parking lots and scoreboards even *do* anything. I gave up trying to upgrade them. My league games tend to be sold out anyway. The friendlies not so much, but I doubt it makes a big diff.
