i got hit by the penalty myself, but i like how the game implemented the penalty. too many teams were throwing away games and integrity in order to lose. playing to lose is a slap in the face to the fans who spend their hard earned money to watch our teams play
Agreed. I got burned on it too with last season's sponsors. I didn't realize it took effect in the first round. Live and learn.
I agree, the only thing I might tweak is to give one warning before the penalty takes effect, or having a lesser penalty for a first offence. Just incase someone accidentally leaves in the wrong lineup by mistake.

Personally, I'd rather see the penalty take hold if you lose the series. Right now you could lose game 1 with a training camp and win games 2 and 3 and still get the penalty.
Bottom line is: it has cut back on tanking to avoid promotion and just be aware of it.
Also, mikpj, you have bigger issues than the pay cut you just got. Your team's financials always befuddle me.

Yes, but it is setup to only penalize if you lose the game not lose the round.
With the intention of stopping teams from relegating? Huh...
Let me clarify, if you lose a game with a crap lineup you'll be penalized. If you lose a round with a crap lineup you'll be penalized twice.
So how much does a reduction of $20M per week leave you with?
I'd guess around 40M/week between the two sponsors.
